PAPETERIE was started in 1995 with the objective to promote handmade recycled paper and products, which have the unique advantage of being both eco-friendly as well as giving a boost to the rural industrial sector. We started off as a small project with the aim of helping smaller paper producers. In the last few years, we have grown enough to commission two small units of papermaking to manufacture paper just for our consumption.

At this point of time, our food packaging range is exclusive in the market under the brand name of Paper Folds. We provide packaging, which can be used for any dry organic products… our USP being that both are natural products and are conceptually very different from their mass-produced counterparts.

Our partners, in India and elsewhere, share the same kind of work ethic as we do. Our partner in Europe , Fairkauf Handels Kontor, started working with us since the idea of Papeterie was conceived. In the beginning of 2005, we're going to celebrate 10 years of our partnership. In India , one of the more important partners is
Karm Marg, an organization working with disadvantaged children. We help in product development and the marketing of their products.

All in all, our main aim is to run a profit-making business without loosing sight of our social objectives.
